Brief History- information collected from Aidens official website edited by Megan
Aiden was born in Seattle, WA in the spring of 2003. Created by four friends: Jake W, Angel, Jake D and Will. They played their first ever gig in July 2003, (even though they only had 5 songs written,) the venue was a pizza place in downtown Seattle.
After Aidens original singer left (sorry I don’t know his name I will try and find out tho,) wiL who was actually playing bass to begin with switched to vocals, and they recruited Nick to complete the nightmare. The name was taken from the horror film the ring. (It’s a great film but you might want to disconnect your phone before watching it……….just watch the film to know what the fuck im going on about.)
In December 2004 the band took to the studio, taking produce Steve Carter with them. They emerged from the studio with their full length titled Our Gangs Dark Oath. Taking matters into their own hands they guys made CD samples of their newer material and managed to shift over 2,000 copies of the two song demos at gigs around Seattle. This sparked a lot of peoples interest, and after playing over a hundred shows and making two videos they got the attention of Victory records. Considering that two of the bands members were still in high school this would have been very hard to get their heads round. They toured as much as they could during school holidays and then in December 2004 Victory Records signed them.
Aiden re-entered the studio in March 2005 (again with Steve Carter) and this time they emerged with Nightmare Anatomy, and anyone who hears that album should know that they are listening to something special. Aidens lyrics come from the heart; most of the songs are related to pain, darkness and other depressing subjects.
In June Jake D. and Angel graduated from high school and they headed out on the road for the Zumiez Coach Tour, then returned home to film the video for last sunrise. (The video is based on the film Queen of the Damned…..another good film.) Aiden then went back on the road July and August, then again in October. In January 2006 they went to England (YAY) for the Kerrang XXV birthday tour. (I went to the Norwich gig and it was fucking awesome.)
So there you go, a brief history of Aiden I hope you enjoyed it…. If you didn’t either fuck off or write some constructive criticism in the guestbook or email me at megz333@hotmail.com
